02The game
How it plays, and where it fits.
The game
- What the player does
- The player calls whether the next card is higher, lower or the same rank as the one showing, or skips it; every right call raises the multiplier until they cash out or call wrong.
- Why players come back
- Hi-lo with an endless shoe, so the odds on every button are exact and card counting is worthless; every call after the first is an even bet on what the player holds, so any way of playing returns 98% before rounding.
- Round structure
- Multi-step cash-out ladder. One stake, call each next card or skip it, cash out after any right call.
- Session fit
- Quick or long sessions: a round is seconds to a minute. Single player.
- Stakes in this build
- 0.10 to 100 demo credits. 0.10 to 100.00 per round.

An endless shoe: every card is drawn from a full deck, so each rank is exactly 1 in 13 on every card. The first right call pays 0.98 divided by its chance and every later right call multiplies what the player holds by exactly 1 divided by its chance, so any way of calling, skipping and cashing out returns 98% before rounding down, and at least 97.07% after it. One call then cash out returns 97.31% to 98.00%. No round pays 10,000× or more: a call that could reach it is not offered, and the round banks itself once even the safest call would. The most a round can pay is 9,999.99×.
Pace
1.6 s a round, about 2,236 rounds an hour. Measured in Chrome with every control pressed as soon as it was enabled, so this is a ceiling with no thinking time.
GGR / 1,000 rounds is the theoretical gross gaming revenue from 1,000 rounds at a total stake of 1.00: house edge × 1,000. Volatility is the standard deviation of one round’s total return per 1.00 of total stake. Low under 1.5, Medium 1.5 to under 5, High 5 to under 15, Very high 15 and over. For scale: an even-money roulette bet is 1.00, a straight-up number 5.84.
